How ro remove URLs from the address bar of Firefox's drop down list?

Firefox’s got a cool feature of automatically showing previous URLs you’ve visited, as you type, in the address bar’s drop-down history menu. But sometimes (Did someone say porn…? sshhh...) you just don’t want those URLs to show up. Let me help you out.

Go to the address bar (Shortcut: Ctrl-L). When you start typing an address, the drop-down menu will appear with the URLs of pages you’ve visited with those letters in them. Use the down-arrow to go down to an address you want to remove from history and press the Delete key to make it disappear. That’s it! Now you can surf without any guilt. Happy, hmm, hmm, hmmmmmm...?

Follow the steps and the entries disappear... until you open the drop-down again, and they're all still there.
