BBC today reported that Microsoft wants to buy Yahoo for $44.6bn in cash and shares. Microsoft showed its interest on Yahoo on a letter which sent to Yahoo's board.

In recent years Yahoo was struggling to compete with search engine giant Google, which has also been a competitor to Microsoft.
