World's First Terabyte Hard Drives for Desktop PC and Notebook from Seagate
Seagate unveiled the world's first 'Terabyte' sized desktop and notebook hard drives. 1.5 terabyte hard drives for desktop PCs and half-terabyte hard drives for notebooks. Named as Barracuda 7200.11 and it combines proven perpendicular magnetic recording (PMR) technology.
According to Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 is reliable storage for desktop computers, workstations, desktop RAID, gaming and high-end PCs, and USB/FireWire/eSATA external storage. Barracuda 7200.11 have a data rate of 120 MeagaBytes per second for fast boot, application startup and file access.
Barracuda 7200.11 will be available on market from August 2008 onwards.
